How to find us

Push the bookcase.

Walk into Social District on Red Cliffs Drive. Past the clothing racks, against the back wall, you will see what looks like an ordinary bookcase. Give it a push. The shelf swings open. On the other side: warm light, soft jazz, twenty seats, and the kind of evening you remember the next morning.

From the Kitchen

Small plates, built to share.

Made from scratch, brought back from a chef's twenty years of moving around the country. The menu rotates with the season. These are the regulars.

Menu changes with the season. Allergies and dietary questions, just ask.

From the Bar

Twenty-three drinks, all named.

House-made syrups, fresh-pulled herbs, theatrical garnishes you do part of yourself. Mocktails get the same treatment as the cocktails. Six house signatures, and a longer list at the bar.

A short biography

Felix Sinatra, in spectacles.

The gold stag on the wall is named Felix Sinatra. He wears glasses. He is on the menu, in the form of a cognac drink with espresso and bitters. He sets the tone.

The cocktail recipe books on the bookcase are titled Tequila Mockingbird and Gone with the Gin. The bartender, Payten, makes house-fermented hot honey with rosemary and jalapeño. The chef, Kristee, learned the crab cakes in Maryland and the brisket somewhere south of there.

The room seats twenty. The music is jazz. The lighting is just enough to read a menu by. If you have not been yet, the bookcase is at the back of Social District, and the rest is the evening.
